Episode 82 of Tales From the Trenches Tuesdays again features Aimée Lindenberger, a veteran of 20-plus years of marketing and communications experience. She is also one of the first in the world to earn a certificate in Philanthropic Psychology. She brings innovative approaches to charities across Canada, helping them engage supporters more deeply, especially in legacy giving which is her passion. Aimée is the author of “How to Talk About Legacy Giving“. She regularly contributes to the sector as a speaker and teacher. She has held leadership roles in the Canadian Association of Gift Planners and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
We discuss the future of philanthropy, specifically with large bequests coming into their own. We also discuss the notion of silos being counterproductive .
My hope is that we will start to see more and more integration and less siloed, protectionism among different portfolios. Donors just don’t think that way. Their experience is not helped by being lumped into different categories. The more we can break down those discreet silos — the more we can see things as a holistic journey of the donor — the more was can combat the falling retention rates.
